Performance at Dorset Council
We track how we are doing across our council year round. This ensures we:
- achieve set goals and priorities
- meet our statutory requirements
- provide efficient services to give value for money
- improve outcomes for residents and visitors to Dorset
- base decisions on strong evidence
Performance indicators
We manage these across the council and report them externally and internally. Levels involved include:
- operational - managing service delivery of teams
- management team - keeping management informed and allowing them to make key decisions
- senior leadership - informing the Senior Leadership Team of strategic issues. This helps them make decisions based on evidence
- Transformation and Performance Board - updating portfolio holders about indicators that influence the way we deliver services
- Cabinet - reporting progress linked to Council Plan priorities
- scrutiny committees - scrutinising the performance indicators reported to senior leadership
