We offer courses for people who have experienced domestic abuse and live in Dorset:
The courses are run by experts working in domestic abuse services.
Courses are free of charge to participants as long as they are:
- over 16 years of age
- have been in or are in an abusive relationship
- are not a risk to other participants
- are aware of confidentiality to protect themselves and others participating
- are not known to be perpetrators of domestic abuse
These courses don't provide a support service for victims of domestic abuse who are currently in crisis or are at high risk of harm.
Victims needing support should contact one of the specialist support services available in the first instance. Victims assessed as being at high risk of harm should be referred to High Risk Domestic Abuse.
Acceptance on all the courses will be made on the basis of a risk assessment and initial assessment of suitability to attend.
