Ironman event - service disruption

Due to the IRONMAN 70.3 event on Sunday 20 September, Weymouth Household Recycling Centre will be closed all day and Dorchester Household Recycling Centre will be closed from 9am to 2pm. Please use alternative sites or visit another day.

Before you start

To nominate an asset you will need to:

check if the asset is already designated

If it is not, you will need to identify the asset using our interactive map.

We will need, at least:

the asset name
the asset address
identification on a map, where possible
the asset type. See our guide for help working out which type of asset you are nominating

Nominations for the local list must be at least 30 years old. A case can be made for younger assets but they must be outstanding in multiple values to be considered.

There is a wealth of information available about local heritage assets. See our guide on how to research heritage assets in your local area for more help.

You will also need to provide:

a description of how it meets the criteria. See our guide on different nomination criteria you can use
photograph(s). See our guide on photos, it includes:
- file size
- format
- how to take the best photos
- what to do if you can't get any photos
your contact details. This is optional but is needed if you want us to keep you up to date with your nomination

If the map is unavailable to you or you have difficulty accessing it, you can complete an electronic copy of the form. Submit it by email along with the required supporting explanation. Send the completed form to: [email protected]

If you cannot the form electronically, you can complete a paper copy of the form. Send it by post along with the required supporting explanation. Please send the completed form to:

What happens next

We will review your application and either decline or accept it:

My application was declined

There are two reasons we may decline a nomination. These are:

lack of information submitted at the nomination stage
the asset does not meet the standards for inclusion on the list

If you have any more detail which was not included in your first form then you can resubmit. You should include your original and the new details.

You can resubmit if you:

have new details that you believe will change the assessment
believe the assessment was misinformed

You will need to show that the asset needs reassessing by providing more:

information
evidence
justification
