Each treasure find is given a reference number which starts with the year the find is reported, for example 2020 T123. Use this number to follow the progress of your case.

This tracker is maintained by Dorset Council's Historic Environment Record and Portable Antiquities Scheme team. It shows our involvement in treasure cases reported through the Dorset Finds Liaison Officer.

We are mainly involved in the reporting and identification of finds, and arrange for the return of finds if they are disclaimed.

We are not responsible for the inquest process, valuation or museum acquisition and may not be sent information on cases in the later stages of the process. If your case has gone to valuation or is being acquired by a museum please contact the Treasure team at the British Museum, quoting your case number. We remove treasure cases from this tracker once they are closed.
