August – October 2018  Consultation on the Preferred Options for the Local Plan Review

A Sustainability Appraisal of the preferred options for the local plan review was prepared. This assesses the potential environmental, social and economic impacts associated with the draft policies, evaluates their overall performance in terms of sustainability, and suggests ways to reduce the adverse effects and maximise the beneficial effects of these policies. The reasons for selecting the Preferred Options, given the alternatives considered at the Issues and Options stage, are also provided in this report. A Summary of the Sustainability Appraisal has also been produced.

February - April 2017 Consultation on the Issues and Options for the Local Plan Review  A Sustainability Appraisal of the issues and options for the local plan review is prepared. This identifies the different approaches to the planning issues considered in the issues and options report, highlighting the potential environmental, social and economic impacts of each and evaluating their overall performance in terms of sustainability. A Summary of the Sustainability Appraisal has also been produced.
March-July 2016 The proposed scope of the review of the Local Plan is presented in the Local Development Scheme

(March 2016) which is agreed by West Dorset District Council Executive Committee and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Management Committee

A Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report is produced, the purpose of which is to identify the key environmental, social and economic issues for the local plan review. Consultation on the Scoping Report with key stakeholders took place between 11 March and 22 April.

The report is subsequently amended to reflect the comments of consultees, and the final Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report is published.
