Dorset Youth Concert Band (DYCB) is for all wind and brass players from grade 2 to 5 standard.
DYCB play a range of music including, classical, traditional, pop and more!
Rehearsals are currently on hold.
Come along at 11.30am on Saturday mornings (term time) at The Blandford School. Parents are welcome to stay.
Directions: enter the Blandford School by the Milldown Primary School entrance (not the leisure centre). Drive past the Milldown Primary School and the Blandford School buildings. We are in the last building on the right hand side before the big locked gates.
Conductor - John Randall (Head of Brass)
As well as coaching young musicians at a national level, John has played with many British and European orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
Membership
The cost is £5 per session (pay as you go).
Inclusive membership for young people
Memberships are open to all young people in full time education under 18 years.
You could get a 50% reduction in membership fees if both the following apply to you:
- you attend a Dorset Local Authority maintained school or academy
- your parent or guardian receives certain benefits
There are also some fully funded memberships if you meet the criteria.
