Weymouth Health Walks

There are two health walks in Weymouth which are mostly flat.

The route taken on the day is agreed at the beginning of the walk and is dependent on the ability and preference of those attending.

All abilities are welcome and the walk can stretch out to different paces. There is no pressure and no one is ever left behind as the pace of the walk is dictated by the rear walker. Our walks last approximately 45 minutes.

Dogs on a discretionary basis, please get in touch with the local contact before attending.

Monthly longer walk

On the third Tuesday of the month there is a longer walk of up to four miles. The walks start at 2pm. The start location changes each month. Duration is approximately 80 to 90 minutes. The walk will include non-pavement paths and through fields, so please wear appropriate footwear.

Tuesday 20 May	Meet in the middle of Westham Bridge (just off Commercial Road) - on the pavement by the parking ticket machine.	Our walk will set off at 2pm and follow the Rodwell Trail to Sandsfoot Castle. The walk will be on tarmac paths - some gentle inclines plus two very short but steeper sections to access and leave the trail. No Mud expected but who knows at this stage whether it will be the weather for ice creams or a hot chocolate (!) - so as ever, please wear suitable clothing and footwear! The likely duration is 80 - 90 minutes depending on our pace on the day - we will take a mid-way rest stop at Sandsfoot Castle.

Health questionnaire

If you are a new walker to the Weymouth health walk scheme, we ask that you complete an annual Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire on arrival. Please allow an extra 10 minutes to complete the form. We ask you to complete this once a year or if your health condition changes.
