Is your internet speed under 10 Megabits per second (mbps)? Then you could be entitled to help.

The BT Universal Service Obligation (USO)

The broadband Universal Service Obligation ( USO ) was launched in March 2020 and provides premises with the legal right to request a decent broadband service of at least 10mbps download and 1mbps per second.

What is the offer?

The USO offers a householder or business owner up to £3,400 towards providing full fibre broadband to the premises. If more than one premises in your area fits the eligibility criteria, it is possible to pull these funds together.

If you live in an area with good mobile connectivity, the BT USO is likely to offer you a 4G Home Hub router instead of the subsidy towards full fibre. This can provide speeds of around 30mbps.
