Free Health Walk at Thorncombe Wood Local Nature Reserve near Dorchester. This is a regular weekly walk led by volunteer leaders every Friday 10am to 11am.
The walk ranges between 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes in length using the paths, trails and bridleways around the beautiful reserve and Puddletown Heath. The walk is suitable for more experienced health walkers, as the paths have inclines and the terrain is mixed and uneven in places.
The reserve is a magical pocket of mixed woodland and heathland, containing Hardy’s Birthplace, a Roman Road, Black Heath, and the famous Rushy Pond.
No booking is necessary, just turn up on the day outside the Visitor Centre. Please note normal car parking charges apply. Dogs are allowed on the walk, but must be kept on a short lead.
