There is a new, free Dorset Health Walk starting at Thorncombe Wood Local Nature Reserve near Dorchester. This is a regular weekly walk led by volunteer leaders.

The walk is an hour in length using the paths, trails and bridleways around the beautiful reserve and Puddletown Heath. The walk is suitable for more experienced health walkers, as the paths have inclines and the terrain is mixed and uneven in places.

The reserve is a magical pocket of mixed woodland and heathland, containing Hardy’s Birthplace, a Roman Road, Black Heath, and the famous Rushy Pond.

No booking is necessary, just turn up. The first walk is on Friday 19 April 10am to 11am and then every week at the same time throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you there!

If you would like to attend the walk please complete your Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire
