The National Record of the Historic Environment to Historic Environment Records data transfer project, often abbreviated to NRHE to HERs project, is a national project established and managed by Historic England. The purpose of the project is to transfer the national dataset to local authority Historic Environment Records; this will end a long-standing duplication of effort on the part of national and local records, and sort out discrepancies between the two sets of information.

The project started in April 2019 and aims to finish in 2026. The Dorset transfer project is happening now, with funding from Historic England. Keep an eye on this page for news of our progress.
