Reporting a concern about an animal establishment

We are keen to ensure that all premises requiring a licence have one, creating a level playing field for those that have obtained and maintain a licence. This ensures those animals are:

  • fed appropriate to their species and age
  • kept in suitable environments
  • receiving appropriate exercise
  • receiving appropriate veterinary preventative care
  • kept free from pain
  • kept in their appropriate social groups (or not, as the case may be)
  • cared for by suitably qualified and experienced staff

If you visit a premises that appears to fall into the categories of any licence type shown on our animal licences page and you have a concern about the care of those animals or compliance with the legislative standards, please contact us.

You can also check if they already hold an animal licence with us.

An inspector will be in touch to discuss your concerns, however, if we are not able to action your complaint at this time, the information will be stored which could help build a case for investigation at a later date.
