This course builds on basic digital skills and helps learners use technology more confidently and effectively. It focuses on practical tasks like managing files, using email, searching online, and presenting information using digital tools.

You’ll cover:

  • starting and shutting down devices properly
  • using software applications and interface features
  • searching for and selecting online information
  • formatting text and inserting images
  • presenting content for a defined purpose
  • following safe operating practices

This course is ideal for:

  • learners who have completed a beginner-level digital course
  • adults with basic digital experience looking to do more online
  • anyone wanting to improve digital skills for work, study, or everyday life

No formal qualifications or work experience required.

Accreditations

This course leads to a City & Guilds Entry Level Introductory Award in Employability Skills (Entry 3). You’ll complete:

  • unit 5546-305: Introduction to ICT
  • unit 5546-902: Employability Skills (Entry 3)

Assessment is based on a portfolio of work completed during the course.

  • completely free for all learners

  • access to Office 365 included
  • optional: bring a pen and notebook for personal notes
