This beginner-level course held at Weymouth Library is designed to help you build confidence using digital devices and online tools. Whether you're new to technology or want to refresh your skills, you'll learn in a friendly, supportive environment.
You’ll cover:
- using hardware and recognising parts of an ICT system
- operating basic software applications
- inputting and presenting information
- safe and responsible use of technology
This course is practical, hands-on, and tailored to everyday digital needs.
Who is it for
This course is open to everyone, especially:
- adults with little or no experience using computers, tablets, or smartphones
- people who feel unsure or anxious about going online
- learners who want to build confidence before progressing to more advanced courses
No previous qualifications or digital knowledge are required.

Accreditations
This course leads to a City & Guilds Entry Level Introductory Award in Employability Skills (Entry 2). You’ll complete:
- unit 5546-205: Introduction to ICT
- unit 5546-901: Employability Skills (Entry 2)
Assessment is based on a portfolio of work completed during the course.
