How long we will keep your information

We will keep Customer Insights data for 3 years.

After this timeframe, the data will be permanently and securely deleted from our records. This ensures that we only keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Where will your information be stored

  • online – on a cloud-based data centre (Achieve/Granicus)
  • telephone – on our telephony partner, Five9’s, servers for 60 days, thereafter in Dorset Councils Data Warehouse

Keeping your information secure

We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent information from being accidentally lost or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.

In order that we can comply with such a request as soon as possible, it would be useful if you could provide the following information within your initial request:

  • enough information to identify you (e.g. email address)

  • the information to which your request relates

How to complain
