Please use one of the following options to report the collection as missed. You can only report a missed collection after your street has been marked as completed or after 4pm on your collection day.
Once reported, we’ll investigate and aim to empty your bin within 5 working days. Just leave the bin or container out until we return.
Report a missed bin collection
The quickest and easiest way to let us know your bin was not collected is by using our online form.

Damaged bins will be repaired where possible. If we cannot repair it, we will provide a replacement. Replacement bins will be delivered within 20 working days.
If your bin is lost, please check carefully with neighbours etc before requesting a replacement.

If you are unable to move your bins to the kerbside you can request help.
Help can be given on a temporary basis where someone has a short term need for help (e.g. a medical issue from which they will recover, or the person who usually helps will be away for a long period).
You will be asked questions to check eligibility, and told the outcome immediately. You will also be asked to suggest a place the bins can be collected from.

Garden waste collection service
You can apply online for a garden waste collection service.
Before you start
You will need the following to complete the application:
- your postcode and address
- the number of garden waste bins you want
- whether you have any unused garden waste bins at your property
- your name, email address and phone number
- a payment method (Direct Debit, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or a credit/debit card)

Refunds are not usually available when you cancel a garden waste subscription. You may be entitled to a full or partial refund if you cancel within 14 days of subscribing, or in exceptional circumstances.

Household recycling centres (tips)
A booking process is in place at four of our Household Recycling Centres. These are:
Visitors accessing these sites by foot or bike are also required to book.
DIY waste bookings
If you are taking DIY waste to any of our recycling centres you will need to make a booking. There is a maximum of 4 bookings per household in any four-week period.
Select one one of the following recycling centres to make your DIY waste booking:

If you cannot book online telephone 01305 221037 to book your slot over the phone. We cannot take bookings over the phone for non Dorset Council residents.
Our recycling centre vehicle permits are free and for Dorset Council residents only. They can be used for either 6 or 12 site visits a year, how many visits you are eligible for will be based on the information you provide when you apply. See further information about our vehicle permits.

If you choose to renew your permit ahead of its expiry date, any remaining visits will be null and void.
You can update your permit at any time. If you are changing your vehicle details, we will transfer any remaining visits to your new vehicle.

- your name
- your post code
- first line of the address the permit is registered to
- the vehicle registration number that is registered on the permit

If you have an overdue bill your collections will have been stopped. Once you pay your bill your service will automatically restart. You can pay online or by calling 01305 228622.
