Overview
You need a charity collection permit if you want to collect money for a charity on the street.
Permits are granted to registered charities and charitable organisations or groups.

Before you apply
Before you apply you should:
- read the House to House Collections Act 1939 and Charities Act 1992
- ensure your collector is 16 or over and has a visible ID badge
Apply
You will need to register for an account before you can apply for a charity street collection permit.
Once you have completed your application you will be prompted to make an online payment. We cannot process your application until payment has been received.
If you already have an account, you can login and apply. You will be prompted to pay for your permit at the end of this application.
After you apply
When we receive your application we will make sure that:
- the collection will not inconvenience the public because of the day of the week, time or the frequency at which it is held
- the collection does not, as far as possible, take place on the same day as another authorised collection
Collection returns
When the collection is finished you must submit a return form showing how much was collected and any expenses.
