New Waste Plan

The new Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Waste Plan identifies sites for new waste management facilities to meet the county's needs. Once adopted, it will provide the policy framework for determining planning applications for waste management facilities up to 2033.

The Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset Waste Plan 2019 has been adopted

The Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset Waste Plan 2019 was adopted by Dorset Council and BCP Council (the minerals and waste planning authorities) on 31 December 2019. 

The Plan and other documents, including the Adoption Statement, are available for viewing on and via links on the BCP website.

Resolution to adopt the Waste Plan

Dorset Council resolved to adopt the Waste Plan on 18 July 2019. BCP Council resolved to adopt the Waste Plan on 17 December 2019. The resolution specified that the date of adoption would be two weeks after the last of the two Council meetings.

The adopted Waste Plan incorporates the main modifications recommended by the Inspector.

Waste Plan Update - January 2019

The Inspector appointed to examine the Waste Plan has now found that the Plan provides an appropriate basis for waste planning in the Plan area, provided that a number of main modifications are made to it.

The Inspector's findings are set out in the Inspector's report. The Inspector has also set out the main modifications that should be made to the Waste Plan. These should be read alongside the Waste Plan Pre-Submission Draft, including Insets 1 - 7, Insets 8 - 13 and the appendices
