Local Aggregates Assessment in Dorset

The Mineral Planning Authority (Dorset Council, together with and on behalf of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council) is required to prepare a Local Aggregates Assessment (LAA).

The LAA describes and assesses the current situation, with a particular focus on supply of land-won sand and gravel. The LAA is updated annually and covers:

  • the various options for aggregate supply in Dorset
  • future aggregates supply, demand, opportunities and constraints
  • setting the annual supply figure to determine future production
