The former Purbeck District Council prepared the Swanage Local Plan (SLP) jointly with Swanage Town Council and Swanage Town and Community Partnership. Following a successful examination, the SLP was formally adopted by the former Purbeck District Council on 13 June 2017. The SLP now forms part of the Local Plan, and covers the period to 2027. The plan sets out a vision for Swanage and provides the strategy for the delivery of development and supporting infrastructure within Swanage. The Council monitors the effectiveness of the Swanage Local Plan policies on an annual basis.
