Entrance to Wareham household recycling centre

Essential maintenance and deep cleaning will take place at eight of Dorset Council’s Household Recycling Centres (HRCs, or “the tip”) during October.

Each site will close for two days to allow this work to be carried out safely.

The planned closures are:

  • Sherborne – Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 October
  • Shaftesbury – Thursday 9 and Friday 10 October
  • Wareham – Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 October
  • Wimborne – Thursday 16 and Friday 17 October
  • Swanage – Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 October
  • Blandford – Thursday 23 and Friday 24 October
  • Bridport – Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 October
  • Portland – Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October.

Residents can use any other Dorset Council recycling centre as an alternative during these closures or keep hold of their waste until their local site reopens.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank everyone for their understanding while this essential work is completed. Please plan your visits accordingly.

(Please note: Weymouth and Dorchester HRCs completed their maintenance closures in September.)
