Out on tour - how organisations across Dorset are tackling climate change.

Libraries in Dorset are hosting a touring exhibition to highlight how business, community and public sector organisations across the county are keeping our planet healthy.
Through photos and text, the ‘Our journey to net zero’ exhibition, which launched last year, shows the changes they’ve made to cut emissions.
The displays include examples from the length and breadth of Dorset with each one of the panels telling a different story.
The exhibition has been produced by Dorset Council to show some of the project’s that have benefitted from its Low Carbon Dorset programme by accessing free advice and grants to reduce their carbon footprints and energy bills.
From the impact of using heat pumps and solar panels to green hydrogen and electric machinery, find out how a community in a rural retreat have moved away from fossil fuels and how countryside rangers are using renewable energy.
Councillor Nick Ireland, Dorset Council’s leader and cabinet member for Climate Change and Environment, said: “This is a must-see exhibition, which we’re touring now, to bring people with us on this climate journey.
The exhibition launched nearly a year ago in venues across Dorset and I am really pleased we’re completing the tour in our libraries.
The displays highlight efforts made by schools, farms, museums, and more to reduce carbon footprint, demonstrating that every sector can contribute to a greener future.”
The exhibition is currently on show at Wimborne Library until 22 May 2025. It will then move onto Lytchett Matravers before going to Blandford, Sturminster Newton, Blandford Green Fair, Gillingham Library and Wareham library until the end of July.
