Coronavirus (COVID-19): updates and advice.

Do you have information for the Historic Environment Record?

Contribute to our knowledge of Dorset's past by reporting your finds and observations, and telling us about your own projects.

We are interested in all kinds of things, including:

  • flints or pottery fragments found on a walk
  • metal detector finds
  • bumps in a field
  • an historic building which may be at risk
  • features exposed during building restoration
  • tank traps or a pill box
  • timbers seen during a dive

We need as much information as you can give, with as accurate a grid reference as possible. You can use our report form to tell us about new discoveries or ask for help with identifications.

Report your find

As well as new discoveries and projects, we are always in need of up-to-date information on known sites, and you can use this form for that too.
