Coronavirus (COVID-19): updates and advice.

Dorset Music Service during COVID-19

At Dorset Music Service (DMS), along with the rest of our Dorset Council colleagues, the health and wellbeing of our pupils, staff, school colleagues and the wider music education community is our highest priority.

This is a fast-changing and difficult situation for us all and we aim to support our music-making community as best we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Online music resources

We've prepared some online music resources to support young people and teachers to continue with their music-making both in and out of school.

We've also developed an online instrumental tuition offer if your lessons have not re-started in school.

The Dorset Music Service is the main provider of music provision within Dorset.

We are the lead organisation in the Dorset Music Education Hub and we are committed, with our partners, to providing all kinds of instrument playing and musical opportunities at the highest practicable level to as many young people in the county as possible.

Playing opportunities

We provide playing opportunities for Dorset’s young musicians of all abilities across Dorset.

We hire instruments to all children and schools in Dorset at a very low cost.

Music events in Dorset

Dorset Music Education Hub provides access to large scale and high quality music experiences for students, working with professional musicians and venues.

Past events
