Wareham's Victorian Town Hall stands on the site of the medieval church of St Peter. With hints of French provincial influences in its styling, it contrasts strikingly with the predominantly Georgian buildings around it. The council chamber has a splendid carved stone fireplace, and the names of mayors from the 14th Century adorn the walls.
