What can I do next?
There are lots of learning and employment opportunities available in Dorset for young people aged 16 to 19. If you have special educational needs or a disability (SEND), support and opportunities may be available up to age 25.
Young people are required to stay in some form of education or training until they turn 18, but this does not have to be at school.
Your options include:
- studying full-time at a school or academy, further education (FE) college or with a training provider
- full-time work or volunteering while taking part in accredited training
- an apprenticeship or traineeship
- education, training and work options for young people with SEND
With so many options available, it's a good idea to talk through your choices with people you trust. You can get advice from your school or college, a qualified careers adviser, your local youth worker, as well as family and friends.
Help choosing your next step
