Why have I got a white tag on my bin?

We were unable to empty your waste or recycling today and placed a white advice tag on your bin for one of the following reasons:

  • your containers were not presented at the collection point (i.e., at the edge of your property next to the public highway or an alternative agreed point)
  • you presented the wrong containers for collection (for example, you put your rubbish bin out on your recycling collection day)
  • we were unable to access your containers to empty them (for example, because of parked cars blocking access or bins left behind a locked gate)
  • your bin was too heavy to empty

What do I need to do?

  • if you cannot wait until your next rubbish/recycling collection (eg. the bin is full) you can take your waste to a household recycling centre. Note that we will pick up extra recycling during your next recycling collection provided it has been separated correctly and placed in a sturdy box or container (no bags)
  • make sure your containers are presented at the kerbside or agreed collection point
  • check your collection calendar or check your collection days online for which containers to put out
  • make sure access to your containers is not blocked
  • try not to overload your bin with heavy items
