Equality impact assessments (EqIAs)

An equality impact assessment (EqIA) is a tool to assess impacts on service users, residents, the wider population and employees when planning or changing services, policies, strategies, plans, contracting services and planning projects. It involves anticipating the effects of policies and services on particular groups and making sure that as far as possible any negative consequences are eliminated or minimised, and that we maximise opportunities to promote equality and diversity.

For example, we use EqIAs to find and remove barriers in services which might stop people knowing about the service, using it and getting the best from it.

The EqIAs listed below are for Dorset Council.  Should you wish to view EqIAs from legacy councils, please contact our Diversity and Inclusion Officer.
