Who the course is for

The Voice Programme is a 12 week course for adults who have experienced domestic abuse, including controlling or coercive behaviour.

If you’ve ever felt confused, worn down, or unsure about what you went through, you’re not alone, and this programme is here to support you.

What you'll learn

VOICE combines gentle learning with supportive, therapeutic conversations. It helps you understand the many different ways abuse can show up, not just physical violence, but also emotional control, manipulation, fear, and loss of confidence. We explore how abuse often happens gradually, and why it can be so hard to recognise while you’re living with it, and sometimes even after it’s ended.

Together, we talk about how trauma affects your body, your emotions, and your reactions, and why the responses you may have had were normal ways of coping with an abnormal situation. You’ll learn more about what you’ve been through, without judgement or pressure to share more than you want to.

The VOICE Programme also focuses on helping you reconnect with yourself. You’ll be supported to build skills for calming your nervous system, understanding your triggers, and developing self-care that actually feels doable and meaningful for you.

Course dates

Courses start the week beginning 20 April 2026.

The 12 week course takes place once a week during term time (excluding school half-term) and is available both online and in Dorchester. We ask that participants are able to attend all sessions to get the most out of the programme.
