Tech Lounge
We work within Dorset Council's adult services and children's services to provide advice to people in the community, just to enable them to live healthier and more independent lives by using technology.
So the Tech Lounge is set up as a showcase of technology that we support people within Dorset. It has a range of technologies that people can come out and test and try. So it might be something like an Alexa or things like a care line in a pendant.
There's no one-size-fits-all with technology, so it's good to have a variety of different products that could meet different people's needs, different people's digital abilities. Not everyone's digitally minded. Some people are digitally excluded, but we wanted to show people that there's a whole range of technology out there that isn't designed to be complicated.
And we hope that we can show it in a normal home environment and how it can sort of help people become adjusted to technology and use it in their everyday lives, really.
