When 59 year old Maddie’s life reached a difficult point, with worsening health, her benefits stopped, and her home at risk - she felt she wasn’t sure where to turn.
Through our crisis intervention service, First Point, Maddie received, practical help.
First Point is a short term support service that helps adults when they are going through a difficult time, providing quick, practical help to stabilise their situation.
Maddie was given support with food, help navigating complex benefits issues, liaison with her landlord, and practical advice to keep her housing secure.
With consistent support, Maddie began to feel secure again and able to move forward.
“I’m so thankful for it. Thank you for being so kind and not giving up on me,” she said.
This kind of crisis support prevents homelessness, protects vulnerable adults, and reduces pressure on emergency services.
