The original version of the Shillingstone Neighbourhood Plan was 'made' (adopted) on 21 February 2017. The parish council has undertaken a review and submitted the revised plan in May 2026. Following public consultation, it was independently examined. The next step is for the revised plan to be presented to Dorset Council’s Cabinet for a final decision (likely to be on 10 November 2026).

Shillingstone Neighbourhood Plan 2025 Review

The examiner’s final report on the Shillingstone Neighbourhood Plan – 2025 Review was issued on 7 September 2026. It concludes that a referendum is not required, and only one modification is necessary for the revised plan to meet ‘basic conditions’. 

During the examination, the examiner wrote to Dorset Council and the parish council to clarify several initial procedural matters and to ask a number of questions.
