Children’s School Holiday Activities

The Purbeck Sports Centre offers a range of activities for children and young people every school holiday. We aim to deliver a diverse mix of activities to appeal to children of all ages. All of the activities available are for mixed ability, so children needn't worry if they are a total beginner.

Holiday activities need to be booked in advance. Payment will be taken at the time of booking. Kids Tennis and Football fun need to be booked directly with the clubs, details of how to book those activities is available below in the activities listing.

In the unfortunate event that we have to cancel an activity that your children are booked onto, we will contact you directly to arrange a refund.

Activities this October half term

Archery

Date: Saturday 25 October
Time: 10:30am to midday
Price: £14.55
Ages: 8 and over, including adults

Have a go session, learn how to shoot a bow and arrow with members of the Bowmen of Lytchett

Intensive swimming lessons - Early Steps 1

Dates: Monday 27 to Thursday 30 October
Time: 9am to 9:30am
Price: £25.80
Ages: 3 and over

Private swimming lessons

Dates: Monday 27 October to Thursday 30 October
Times: 9:30am to 10am and 10am to 10:30am
Prices: £20 for 1 person per session, £22 for 2 people per session
Ages: 3 and over

Pool inflatable swim sessions 

Dates and times:

• Monday 27 October from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
• Wednesday 29 October from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
• Saturday 1 November from 3pm to 4pm

Price: £5.50 per person

Participants must be able to swim 25 meters unaided. Under 8s must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Junior functional training

Dates and times:

• Monday 27 October from 4:30pm to 5:15pm
• Thursday 30 October from 4:30pm to 5:15pm

Price: £5.25 per person
Ages: 12 to 15

Sessions run in our new functional training room under the guidance of gym instructor Will. Sessions are tailored to suit all abilities and will help to build confidence and knowledge in a gym environment. 

Coach Tarbs

Date: Tuesday 28 October
Time: 9 am to 3pm
Price: £30 per person (£25 for siblings or repeat bookings)

A fun filled day of multi sports and games with a heavy emphasis on team work, attitude, resilience, basic life skills and most importantly smiles!

Football fun day

Dates: Tuesday 28 October and Thursday 30 October
Times: 9am to 3pm or 10am to 3pm
Price: £25
Ages: 6 to 14

Come down and show your skills in our football fun day including tournaments, skill challenges and lots of prizes to be won. Please bring packed lunch, appropriate clothing, and plenty to drink. Children will remain outside during all weathers, please send them with appropriate wet weather clothing. 

Fun and floats swim sessions 

Dates and times:

• Tuesday 28 October from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
• Thursday 30 October from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
• Friday 31 October from 1:30pm to 2:30pm

A family swim session including all the foam mats, toys and large floating crocodile! Normal pool admission fee applies.

Bouncy castle fun

Date: Wednesday 29 October

Times and ages:

• 9:30am to 10:30am for ages 3 to 7
• 10:45am to 11:45am for ages 8 to 12

Price: £5 per person

Try the new indoor inflatable for an hour and allow the children to use their energy on our jungle themed bouncy castle. Our large Jungle Kingdom bouncy castle and inflatable slide. Jungle Kingdom is an exciting and exhilarating environment where children can bounce, bump and exit using the thrilling side slide.

Tennis

Date: Wednesday 29 October
Time: 2pm to 5pm
Price: £17.50
Ages: 4 to 14

A fantastic, fun session of tennis including: 

• great coaching from LTA qualified and accredited instructors 
• fun games, competitions and prizes 
• rackets provided if you don’t have one

Spooktastic Dancetastic

A fun filled dance session jam packed with choregraphed dance moves with a spooky twist! Halloween costumes that you can shake your moves in are welcome but not essential.

Laser tag

Come and get your Laser on in the Sports Hall, we have some fantastic equipment to offer children a super fun hour of Laser Tag, with obstacles, fun and games galore.

Nerf gun fun

What could be more fun than an epic Nerf battle with a group of mates? Our team of instructors are big kids and love to make the Nerf Gun Fun experience totally awesome. Expect obstacles, target practice and some mega battles!
