Renewing your items
If someone else has requested the item
In this case:
- items can be renewed for an additional 3 days
- these can only be renewed by visiting one of our libraries or by calling 01305 224311
If no one else has requested the item
In this case:
- you can renew it up to 10 times, unless someone else has reserved this item in the mean time
- you must then return the item to the library
- staff can issue it to you again if you still want it
When your renewal starts
When you renew an item the new loan starts from the day you renew.
For example, if your item is due on Saturday but you renew it on Thursday, your new loan starts on Thursday.
Charges for hired items
If you are renewing a hired item (such as a DVD or CD):
- a new charge will be raised for each renewal
- this can be paid when the item is returned
How to renew a library item
Please have your library card number and PIN ready, you need these to renew an item.
The quickest way to renew an item is online via our Libraries West website or via the Libraries West app.
You can also call us on 01305 224311, a member of staff can then renew your item over the phone for you.
Alternatively, you can renew an item in person by visiting your local library.
