Proof of death
We cannot issue or certify proof of death documents for pension purposes abroad.
If you need to confirm a death for an overseas pension provider, you will need to use the official death certificate issued by the register office where the death was registered.
Who to contact for proof of death
Contact the register office in the area where the death occurred to obtain an official death certificate.
If additional authentication is required (for example for apostille or legalisation) visit the UK Government Legalisation Office website.
