Through LibrariesWest, you can borrow free e-books, e-audiobooks and e-magazines. Choose from over 12,000 e-books, 2,500 e-audiobooks and 1100 e-magazines, available through the BorrowBox website or app.
How to access BorrowBox
To access BorrowBox you can either:
- use the BorrowBox website, or
- download the free BorrowBox app. This is currently available for Android, iOS and Kindle Fire devices
Using the BorrowBox website
You will need your Dorset Library membership card number and PIN to sign into BorrowBox. If you have forgotten your pin you can have a PIN reminder sent to you.
To sign in:
- visit the BorrowBox website
- select your library (Dorset)
- click 'sign in' - this is in the top right hand corner of the website
- enter your library membership number and PIN
If you are using a Kindle Fire, visit BorrowBox's Kindle Fire installation page.

E-magazines
You can borrow up to 50 titles at a time for 50 days and renew them as often as you like if you need more time.
All titles are available instantly, so there's no need to place a reservation. Magazines can be streamed or downloaded to your tablet, smartphone, PC or laptop. Every issue is unabridged, interactive and in full colour, and new editions are available at the same time they appear on newsagents’ shelves. Each title also includes access to back issues for you to explore.
E-newspapers
Read and listen to local and national newspapers online by visiting the BorrowBox website.
