Within Dorset's allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Funds (UKSPF), £1.1million supports and delivers skills provision under the “Multiply” initiative. This is delivered through a partnership of learning providers led by Dorset Skills and Learning.

The objective is to support the maths skills and thereby employment opportunities of people aged 19 years or above who are without a Level 2 Maths qualification.

Multiply can also support people who do have a Level 2 qualification but are not currently working at that level.

This can be through specific courses to achieve qualifications, or short courses to improve abilities in everyday skills such as money management and number confidence.

Session opportunities are available in a variety of locations around the county. These will be held in different formats including day/evening and online opportunities. Skills and Learning can work with council teams, employers and community organisations to provide learning sessions tailored to the needs of particular groups.

In addition, there is support for employers to enable their employees to upskill and improve their numerical ability if they lack a Level 2 Maths qualification.
