If you want to receive your free allowance of DIY waste disposal you will need to book a household recycling centre slot.

What is DIY waste?

DIY waste includes:

  • rubble
  • tiles
  • panes of glass
  • hardcore
  • plasterboard
  • bricks
  • blocks
  • slates
  • paving slabs
  • concrete
  • ceramic toilets/sinks/pedestals/baths

Items that have come from commercial activity, including work carried out by a builder or tradesperson on your behalf, will not be accepted at all regardless of whether you are prepared to pay for it or not.

Bag sizes

A bag is equivalent to a small, plastic, sand/aggregate bag from standard DIY stores (or similar) that can be safely lifted by one person.

Important information for non Dorset Council residents
