Climbing club

Bookings are now open for the autumn term

These sessions are aimed at youngsters aged 11 to 18, who are keen to learn the ropes or improve their existing climbing skills. During the Winter and Spring terms, we welcome new club members to learn the ropes on the indoor wall. During the summer term, the club head out to enjoy the real rock of Portland on a longer 3-hour session with transport provided.

Climbing club information:

  • Wednesday evenings in term time
  • autumn term dates 23 September to 21 October 
  • 5 pm to 6:30 pm (except for the first session with an 8:30 pm finish)
  • indoor climbing wall (except for the first session on the crag) 
  • £18.90 per session, bookable per half-term block

Short Break SEND activity sessions

Bookings are now open for half term

  • open to ages 7 to 17 with SEND
  • open to young people with mild to moderate needs
  • small groups of 6 children with two instructors
  • £6 per person, per half-day session.

Join the friendly team of instructors to explore adventure sports in a small and supportive group. Open to young people with mild to moderate needs. These sessions are part of the Short Break scheme, providing a short break to parents and guardians. Sessions are part-funded by Dorset Council. Please get in touch if you have any difficulty paying the sessional rate, as we want all families to have the opportunity to book.

Parent/guardian drop-off and collection - we can not accommodate waiting on site without prior agreement.

  • £29.75 per person for fee paying customers 
  • morning sessions 9 am to 1 pm open to ages 8 to 11
  • afternoon sessions 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm open to ages 12 to 16
  • minibus transfers and all equipment are provided
  • parent/guardian drop-off and collection - we can not accommodate waiting on site

Activities are subject to change with weather and instructor availability. 

Loose Moose Catering in Weymouth provide the lunches. Please note any dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances upon booking. If you prefer to bring a packed lunch, you would be welcome to do so.

For free HAF passcode bookings, allow 2 to 4 weeks after completing the HAF registration form for confirmation of your activity. Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre will allocate places fairly and email you confirmation of your provision as soon as possible.

We offer additional support by means of a small group of 12 children with two instructors. 1:1 support can be requested and funded by the HAF provision, but this must be communicated and arranged in advance. Please note this request on your application form.

How to Make a Booking

  1. Email us with your booking request, including:

  • The session(s) you would like to book (dates, activities, and whether you would like a morning or afternoon session).
  • The full name and date of birth of each child you wish to book.
  1. We will check availability for your chosen sessions.

  2. If spaces are available, we will:

  • Add your child(ren) to the session register.
  • Send you a booking confirmation email.
  • Provide joining instructions.
  • Send a payment link.
  • Send a link to our online consent form.
  1. Complete your booking by:

  • Paying for the session(s) using the payment link provided.
  • Completing the online consent form.

Important: The payment link is valid for 24 hours only. Your booking will be confirmed once payment has been received and the consent form has been completed.
