Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre (WOEC) is situated on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. It benefits from easy access to a variety of high-quality watersports and climbing venues. Within 8 miles you'll find:

Mountain bike adventures
No bikes? No transport? No problem! We’ll get you and your family out into the forest and exploring on two wheels. Join a guided family mountain bike ride through the forest with one of our friendly, experienced mountain bike leaders. Expect fresh air, wildlife spotting, forest trails and plenty of smiles – all while getting active together. This is a gentler adventure ride of around 10km, with optional inclines and technical challenges if you’re feeling brave. You choose your adventure level!
What to expect:
- 4-hour sessions, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
- small groups (max 8)
- open to adults and families
- minimum age 10+ (to fit our bikes)
- max 2 children per adult
- £57.75 per session with a 5% discount when you book 2 or more participants.

Learn to rock climb evenings
Ready to take your climbing to new heights? Our Family Learn to Rock Climb evening sessions are a brilliant way to build confidence, learn new skills and enjoy an exciting family adventure together.
Across two Wednesday evenings, you’ll start by learning the basics on our on-site climbing wall, with support from our experienced instructors. Then, on the second evening, it’s time to put those new skills into action on the real rock crag of Portland – a fantastic chance to experience outdoor climbing in an inspiring coastal setting.
These sessions are ideal for families looking to try something new, challenge themselves and share an adventure together in a safe, supportive environment.
What to expect:
- two Wednesday evening sessions, both 6pm to 9pm
- Wednesday 12 August and 19 August
- minimum age 10+
- minimum 2 children per adult
- £86.62 per person for both evenings
