Our ambition is to make Dorset a place where growing older means living better, and where every generation enjoys a good life. Age Friendly Dorset is a supported in our Council Plan as part of the 'Communities for all' priority.

The focus for creating an age friendly community is split across 8 areas.

These are:

  • outdoor spaces and buildings
  • transportation
  • housing
  • social participation
  • respect and social inclusion
  • civic participation and employment
  • communication and information
  • community support and health services.
