Shaftesbury Car Link (SCL)

Shaftesbury Car Link provides transport for passengers who have difficulty accessing public transport, for whatever reason. Primarily for medical trips - shopping and social trips may be accommodated subject to availability. We do not provide transport for airports, seaports or holidays. 

Who it's for

There is no age limit. 

 

Costs

Clients need to be registered with SCL before they can use its services. Registration can be done by phone and at the same time as a first booking. To help with administration costs there is an annual membership donation of £10 per person (£15 for households).

Suggested voluntary donation of 60p per mile, based on return trip mileage. The minimum donation is £5. One week’s notice of booking is required as a general rule.  Emergency appointments will be catered for if resources allow.

Days of operation

Monday to Friday from 7.00 am until 6.00 pm subject to driver availability. Pre-booked medical appointments only may be undertaken at weekends.

Volunteers’ own vehicles. All volunteer drivers are insured and checked by the Disclosure & Barring Service. A wheelchair accessible vehicle is available subject to availability.  Bookings should be made as early as possible.

Shaftesbury, surrounding villages in the SP7 area and Ashmore. The wheelchair accessible vehicle may be available outside these areas, subject to availability.
