Voluntary car scheme to help the frail or housebound. The scheme offers transport to visit doctors, dentist, opticians, hospital or relatives in hospital, if no other means of getting there are available. We can also collect prescriptions and/or deliver medication.
Clients should specify if they use wheelchairs. 3 or 4 days notice is required for bookings.
Who it's for
Disabled/mobility impaired, elderly, children and young people with no access to or unable to use public transport (children should normally be accompanied and car seats have to be provided and help provided to fit them in the car).
No need to register for this service.
Costs
40p per mile. Local under 2 miles - minimum £2 (subject to review).
