Information about the latest group exercise classes and charges at the Verwood Hub and Emmanuel Sports Hall. 

Fitness classes

Whether you want to improve your fitness, lose weight, tone up or are just looking for fun and motivating sessions, there are group exercises classes for everyone. From yoga to the phenomenon that is indoor cycling. All classes are to be 45 minutes in duration to ensure thorough cleaning can be completed. 

The minimum age for classes is 14 (with the exception of all weighted exercise classes which is 16) this includes Cardio/Strength and HIIT classes and others depending on the session planned. The final decision is down to the fitness instructor taking that class. Spinning classes are 16+ only due to the size of the bikes. All minors attending classes will need to be booked in with reception as normal.

Classes are free to Platinum and Active Combo members, but anyone can join in for a small activity charge, starting from £3.50. Please also see our GP referral classes.

Chair Fit

Studio 1 £4.20

This class is ideal for anyone with mobility issues but wishing to take part in a gentle, yet stimulating, session. Predominantly chair based, the class incorporates some elements of Pilates combined with strengthening, stretching and balance work.

Slim Down & Shape Up 12.30pm to 1pm Studio 1 £3.90 A combination of nutrition advice and body measurements to help guide you towards your weight goals. Access to the gym is included after the class. (A gym induction must have been completed prior to gaining access to the gym)
Access Circuits 1pm to 1.45pm Studio 1 £4.20 A gentle exercise class, fully supervised by a qualified instructor, suitable for those new to exercise of those who have a health condition.
Chair Yoga 2pm to 3pm Studio 1  £4.20 Using the stability of a chair, a gentle yoga class to improve balance and flexibility.

ESH Upper Body Pump

6pm to 6.45pm ESH £5.70 A barbell based workout which will target the muscular endurance of all muscles in the upper body to get toned, lean and fit. 

ESH Circuits

7pm to 7.45pm ESH £5.70 Build strength and fitness through a variety of HIIT and Interval exercises in a circuit based style.

Pilates 

7pm to 7.45pm Theatre £6.00 Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.
