Swimming clubs at Purbeck Sports Centre
Sports centre closed
The sports centre will be closed from the 5 November 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Purbeck is host to two swimming clubs. Wareham and District Swimming Club and Bere Regis Swimming Club.
Wareham and District Swimming Club
Wareham and District Swimming Club swim at the Sports Centre three times a week - Sunday and Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.
We have sessions tailored for those wishing to develop their swimming including water skills, rescue and water safety, personal survival, synchronised swimming, diving and competitive swimmers wishing to compete in competitions.
Swimmers wishing to join the club must be able to swim 25m of Front Crawl, Backstroke and Breaststroke.
Children can go on to develop their strokes to a competitive high standard and/or eventually work towards becoming a qualified Swimming Teacher.
Contact Nadine Honeybun for more information.
Bere Regis Swimming Club
We aim to improve the standard of swimming in the area and to take children from complete beginners to competitive standard in a happy and friendly environment.
In this structured programme, we are also able to teach elementary diving, synchronised swimming and personal survival to our older children.
We are open to children from the Bere Regis area and the surrounding villages.
Take a look at the Bere Regis Swimming Club website for further information or contact Bob Holman direct.
Tripurbeck is a friendly family Triathlon Club with a strong junior and adult section.
Sessions are coached by Level 1 and 2 British Triathlon Federation Coaches and junior and adult sessions are coached side by side, so the whole family can train at the same time!.
We have all abilities, from complete novice to athletes competing for Great Britain in their age group.
The first few sessions are free so you can try us out, please see the TriPurbeck website for details of when the coached sessions take place or contact them direct.
