This report is one of a series of topic based reports which together constitute the Christchurch and East Dorset Authorities' Monitoring Report.

These reports will be regularly updated. The date that the information was last updated is indicated alongside each table/section as appropriate. Further topic areas can be viewed in the Christchurch and East Dorset Authorities' Monitoring Report.

Carbon emission reduction/water and energy efficiency

Policy ME3 requires development to incorporate carbon emission reduction, water and energy efficiency measures and to demonstrate they have explored a range of sustainable and low carbon options. Policy ME3 requires that development should be informed by the Code for Sustainable Homes Design Categories (residential) development) and BREEAM standards (non residential), or subsequently agreed national standards.

This monitoring data is not currently available. These monitoring indicators will be reviewed in the light of evolving national standards and will be used in future monitoring updates.

Renewable, decentralised and low carbon energy

Policy ME4 seeks to encourage renewable, decentralised and low carbon energy in residential development of 10 or more dwellings (or sites of 0.5 hectares or greater), and non residential development of 1,000m2gross floorspace (or 1 hectare or greater). The policy seeks 10% of total regulated energy used in these types of development will be from such energy sources.

The table below lists those dwellings or non residential floorspace that have been completed having met these energy requirements. The requirement was normally secured using a planning condition referring to policy ME4
