The Alderholt Potential Developments – Initial Transport Study provides an initial assessment of the likely impacts of traffic generated by potential new developments in the Alderholt and Fordingbridge areas, based on existing data sources and previous studies.
A transport model has been developed, which provides an indication of where traffic from future developments would be likely to travel. However, the report also recognises that data needs to be collected to gain a more accurate picture of current volumes of traffic and the routes vehicles use.
The report identifies the need for a more robust modelling exercise in order to determine the capacity of the existing network and its ability to cope with the predicted increase in traffic. The report was produced by Dorset County Council’s Transportation Modelling Team in March 2019.
