Core Strategy Options for Consideration - key issue papers

Key issue papers have been prepared as part of the Local Development Framework to inform the development of the Core Strategy Options for Consideration document.

A series of key issue papers have been produced which address distinct issues affecting Christchurch and East Dorset. The issues addressed have been identified from:

• National and local policy objectives of other relevant plans and programmes (national to local)
• Sustainability Appraisal
• Core Strategy Issues and Options Stakeholder Engagement
• Evidence studies undertaken by the Council and key stakeholders
• Community Plans of Christchurch and East Dorset

The papers set out the process of how options within the Christchurch and East Dorset Core Strategy have been developed following Issues and Options work undertaken in spring 2008. They set out the critical issues, problems and challenges to be considered in planning for the future of the two districts.

Evidence Studies

In addition to the key issue papers, Christchurch and East Dorset Councils have produced a series of area profiles and undertaken a number of evidence studies in order to better understand the potential impacts of our Local Development Frameworks, which includes the Core Strategy Options for Consideration document.

The evidence studies provide credible and robust evidence with which to inform the options proposed in the Core Strategy.
