The Vale Family Hub opens its doors to families in North Dorset

Families in North Dorset now have access to even greater support, thanks to the grand opening of The Vale Family Hub. 

Families were welcomed for the first time at the weekend? as part of a special community day, complete with a stilt walker to add to the celebrations!  

What was once a disused and leaky warehouse has been transformed into a bright, welcoming, and vibrant space for families. 

This transformation was made possible by a dedicated team of volunteers, many of whom previously contributed their time and energy to the much-loved Vale Pantry.  

Their hard work has ensured that this new hub will not only continue to provide vital food services but also offer a full range of family support services. 

Cllr Carole Jones, Family Hub Lead and Chair of the Local Alliance Group, shared her excitement: “It’s been incredible to see this vision come to life, and to see so many people come along to our community open day.”

Family hubs across Dorset play a crucial role in supporting families with children from conception to 18 years old or up to 25 years old for those with special educational needs and disabilities.  

Services include midwifery, health visiting, financial advice, parenting classes, learn-and-play sessions, and much more. 

These hubs are more than just service providers, they are warm, welcoming spaces where families can access vital support while also building connections and strengthening their local community. 

The Vale Family Hub officially began its operations, with a homework club for local children in its first week, just one of the many ways it will support the community moving forward.
