Residents’ views sought to determine housing need in the Isle of Purbeck

Anyone with a local connection to Langton Matravers in the Isle of Purbeck, is being invited to give their views on the size and type of housing that is required there.
Dorset Council and the Parish Council have opened the survey to hear from households with a need for affordable housing, households who have had to move away due to housing shortages or anyone with a local connection to the parish.
For the next two weeks people can complete the survey online, download a printable version or request a paper copy.
Gill Taylor, Cabinet Member for Health and Housing said: “This is the second survey we’ve launched in the Dorset Council area this month and this grassroots feedback will help identify the housing need.
Anyone who wants to return to the village because of family ties or community roots but can’t because of a lack of affordable housing should complete this survey.
What we learn can influence future housing decisions and I hope residents won’t miss the opportunity to take part.”
The outcome of the survey could also support any future planning application from the Langton Matravers Community Land Trust (CLT).
Formed in 2017, to help deliver affordable rental homes for local people, the CLT has identified a potential affordable housing scheme at Capston Field, for up to ten homes.
Complete the survey here or request a printed copy or assistance to complete the survey from the Housing Enabling Team on 01305 252443.
The results of the survey will be shared with residents.
