Exciting changes at Blandford Children’s Centre Nursery

Following engagement with staff and families, from 1 September 2025, Archbishop Wake CE Primary School has taken on the running of Blandford Children’s Centre Nursery, which will be renamed Archbishop Wake Nursery.

In addition, Oscars will become Archbishop Wake CE Primary School Wraparound Care, continuing to offer high-quality before- and after-school care, as well as a holiday club during school breaks.

This transition is part of a handover to the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust, recognising their deep expertise in education and their strong track record in nurturing children's learning and development. The Trust is exceptionally well-placed to deliver this vital service to the community, ensuring that children continue to receive the best possible start in life.

Cllr Clare Sutton, Lead Member for Children and Education, said:

“This marks a new chapter for the nursery and the wider community. We are confident that, under the leadership of Archbishop Wake CE School and the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust, the nursery will flourish. Their commitment to high-quality early years education and their strong community ethos will help the setting thrive and grow.
